I got hold of "Fallout 3 The Vault-tec fils" wich is basicly a behind the sceans of the designing and making of Fallout 3., it wasn't what i had actually wanted but it was nice to lear a bit about the concept and thought behind game design. One of the main things i learned was about repetitive action and how if you can get that one thing in a game that you do over and over to be exiting then thats half the battle. VATs is the solution for Fallout 3 it facilitate three wants/needs it makes repetitive action entertaining, its a cinematic joy button and give a sort of play back.
There was also a bit about emergence (stop people wanting to stop playing) that i found interesting, the different components that keep people entertained the visual side of which is actually quite useful to me.
Fallout WIKI Synopsis:Fallout is a computer role-playing game produced by Tim Cain, developed by Black Isle Studios (though before the studio was named "Black Isle") and published by Interplay in 1997. The game has a post-apocalyptic setting in the late 22nd century, though its story and artwork are heavily influenced by the post-World War II nuclear paranoia of the 1950s.
