Footage problems

All my footage was shot on one of the XD cameras for the best posible quality unfortunatly the computers in the basment auto rip the footage off as a codec i cant use in my After Effects or even play with my quicktime.

Codecs - XDCAMEX 1080p25 (35 Mb/s VBR), integr=er (Big Endian), Timecode

I cant even watch it in VLC, i have used the XD camera many times but never ripped the footage off myself, like all the other times i let Tom do it, i should have done it my self or at least made sure the codec was right, i was unaware there was a specific codec for that camera and wrongly assumed Tom would be using one of the more common codecs but as tom only works on it in the basement he must be using the camera one to keep the number of codec changes to a minimum.

The main reason this is a problem is because i logged all the footage on friday to use at home which i couldn't do, without mat i couldn't get into the basement to work on the footage and because i wanted to get the project files, textures and assets set up properly i didn't realize the problem till midday. basements closed Saturday, college is closed Sunday and Monday is a Bank holiday.

There is always one more thing that can go wrong, unfortunately it cost me 3 days 12 days from the end of the project.
