On the 16th of october somone who works in the special efects industry came to college to give a demonstration, aswell as going through all the diffrent materials he uses he went through some of the problems you can have like only certain one can touch skin and that some tools and gloves will bond with the materials. 
He was also "plugging" a company called bentley chemicals, they are a creative chemical suppler.
bentley chemicals have supplied products used in films like harry potter aswell as the last 5 James bond film.
The website is very helpful not only giving you specifications and instructions but you can also ask questions about bonding times and release agents.
All you have to do is make senses of the descriptions and then pick the best one for the job, any chemicals i need that i cant get locally will come from here.
